These are the same rules you agreed to when you signed up, and the same ones our automated moderation enforces. The short version: argue about the situation, never at the person.
Disagree as sharply as you like with what someone did. Do not aim it at the person. Swearing is not against the rules here — "that is bullshit" and "damn, that is rough" are ordinary ways to react to an ordinary mess, and nothing blocks them. Neither does venting about the people in your own story. What is against the rules is pointing it at a human being: insults, name-calling, mockery, threats, or wishing that someone would die or get hurt. The test is not how strong the language is. It is whether there is a person on the end of it.
Do not post full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, workplaces, schools, social handles, or anything else that could identify a real person — including yourself. Cases and responses are text only. There are no photos, screenshots, or file uploads, on purpose.
No slurs, and no demeaning content aimed at someone for their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. This one is not a strike ladder — it is removed immediately.
Lived experience and honest perspective are the whole point. Presenting yourself as diagnosing someone, or handing out individualized medical, legal, or financial instructions, is not.
No advertising, scams, or repeated copy-paste submissions. No manipulating votes, running multiple accounts, or coordinating with others to swing a verdict.
Credible threats, sexual content involving minors, instructions for self-harm, and doxxing are removed immediately and can end an account without a warning first.
Almost everything that breaks a rule is simply not posted, with an explanation of what to change. Nothing goes on your record and you can try again straight away. That includes quoting somebody else’s abuse: you will be asked to describe what they said rather than repeat it, and it never counts against you.
A strike is only recorded for the short list that leaves no room for doubt:
Strikes escalate:
Slurs, credible threats, telling someone to kill themselves, doxxing, and sexual content involving minors skip the ladder and can suspend an account on the first offence.
You can see your own standing any time on your account page. Automated moderation gets things wrong sometimes; if it did, tell us.
